Diane's first book "A Fire In The Heart: Kurdish Tales" was released as part of Libraries Unlimited World Folktales series in January 2008. The result of years of research on and collecting of Kurdish folktales, this ground-breaking collection introduces readers to the Kurdish culture, their history, games, recipes and stories.

Diane's performances often include original stories like 'Pattysaurus ' the tale of a dinosaur loving monster-child and unusual adaptations such as 'New Age Gawain and the Green Knight '. Her original story "What Now, Cloacina?" a teaching tale dedicated to water conservation has been published in the collection: Spinning Tales Weaving Hope. And has since been republised in several small collections from Canada to England. Diane has also written numerous magazine articles on storytelling and its relationship with nature mythology. Titles include: Sacred Stories of Nature and The Mythology of Trees .
