Kurdish Story Collection Project

In villages in the Kurdish region of Turkey and among Kurdish refugees here in the United States and abroad, Diane has been collecting the folkloric myths and legends of the Kurdish people. This archive of stories has resulted in the publication of the first collection of Kurdish folktales in English: A Fire in My Heart: Kurdish Tales published by Greenwood Press.

Living Myth Events

The Living Myth Project brings together ancient myths and modern landscapes to create new and vital intersections of Myth and Life. Current projects have taken place in such unexpected locations as the Boston subway system (Millennium LabyrinTh - co-created with Mari Novotny-Jones and with Ean White), and the groves of Arnold Arboretum (In the Groves created with Celtic Harper Margot Chamberlain.)

We need to keep what is important and living in mythology and carry it with us as we go. Therefore the visual symbol for Living Myth is an image of Turtle being flown across the mountains on the wings of Birds.
